STORMWARRIOR forced to cancel W:O:A Aftershow Party on Aug 8!

Due to a very severe back injury of our drummer Hendrik we are forced to cancel our
appearance at the W:O:A Aftershow Party this sunday. Please understand that health
comes first and especially with a drumming job which is as physical demanding as with
Stormwarrior, we need him to be fully recovered before hitting the stage again.

STORMWARRIOR signed to Massacre Records:

Massacre are proud to welcome German true metal kings STORMWARRIOR to the label.
Being one of Germany's most upcoming metal bands the quartet has signed a long-term
contract and has already started with the work on their upcoming 4th. album
(the working title is "Heathen Warrior"). The new album will be in stores end of this year
as a limited Digipak with bonus material, CD and numbered gatefold vinyl editions.
Mix and mastering will be done by Tommy Hansen, already having done the mastering work
on the the highly appraised predecessor "Heading Northe". The artwork will again be in the
hands of Uwe Karczewski. Metalheads can expect another combination of explosive guitar
works, catchy hooks but also some new elements to the"typical STORMWARRIOR sound"!

Additional SW shows, Summer 2010:

JUL 3: Jyrkkä 2010 Rock Festival (FI)
STORMWARRIOR will be making appearances at two further shows this Summer.
First off, the JYRKKÄ 2010 Rock Festival at Pudasjärvi in Finland. The
event takes place in the weekend of July 2-3., with STORMWARRIOR
headlining on the Saturday. Among other acts are Burning Point, who also shared
the stage with SW at last years Finnish Jallometalli Festival.

AUG 8: W:O:A Aftershow Party.
BALLROOM HAMBURG, now located directly on Reeperbahn, will be throwing
their annual full throttle Wacken Open Air Aftershow Party on Sunday August 8.
STORMWARRIOR are set to play the bash. Among other confirmed acts are
Melodic Metallers Mob Rules.

Stormwarrior headlined the Saarbangers Metal Festival near Saarbrücken on
Sat. 22.05. We would like to express our thanks to the warriors travelling
from France, Belgium and the UK to see the show.

Though we are mainly staying focused on the follow-up to “Heading Northe” at this
point in time, the Festival on Saturday has reawakened our appetite for being on stage.
Within the next couple of days we will announce a few extra Stormwarrior
appearances for this Summer.

After a long period of repositioning, we have also decided on the label we will team up with
for the future. We will update you on that shortly, as soon as the last formalities are in place.

Further great news is that the Live DVD “If It’s Not In Your Bloode… You Will Never
Understande!” is now completely ready for the final video cut, which means that the
official release date is drawing very near. We know you all have been waiting for a very
long time now and we’re really sorry about that, but there are certain processes in this
universe that simply are beyond our influence…However, thanks a lot for your patience
and stay tuned to the Official Runestone for the upcoming details,

STORMWARRIOR is confirmed for this year's H.O.A. Festival.
The event takes place on July 29.-31. in Brande, Elmshorn (DE)
The SW show will be scheduled for either Friday or Saturday.

Hello Everybody!

Over the last weeks we have received a lot of questions about the final release date of the
long-awaited live DVD package “If It’s Not In Your Bloode... You Will Never Understande!”.
Due to the fact that Stormwarrior has parted company with the Dockyard 1 label,
and since DY1 was also designated to handle the promotional work for the live DVD package,
we had to get to terms with a further delay of the release.

We hope that you will understand that we were unable to update you on this,
before we had the full overview of the situation.

The DVD release will now be handled by Remedy Records in its entirety, as a one-off
collaboration. We have not been given a final date yet, but the release of the package that
we are all eagerly waiting for will definitely happen in the beginning of 2010.

At the present, we are very exciting about working on new material for the next studio album.
We are aiming for a Spring/Early Summer 2010 release of the follow-up to “Heading Northe”.

Furthermore, we are looking at possible Stormwarrior festival appearances and suitable tours
for the New Year, so rest assured: We will see you guys out on the road in 2010.

and wish you a Happy New Metal Year 2010!

Stormwarrior all set for Progpower USA XI.
Stormwarrior is proud to announce that we are confirmed for the ProgPower USA XI roster.
The festival is taking place on Sep. 10-11 2010 at the Center Stage Theatre in Atlanta, GA.

Óđinn’s Warriors complete again.
On May 30th. Stormwarrior flew down to Spain to play the Ginetarock Festival in Albacete.
The festival was to become a historic occasion for the band. Not only was the event the first
SW gig on Spanish soil, but Ginetarock also marked the premiere show for new sticksman
Hendrik Thiesbrummel, who has already earned himself the nickname "TB Steele" from the
rest of the band, referring to his double-kick prowess. Stormwarrior spent some time in a
country farmhouse outside Bielefeld to get ready for this show, and Hendrik's debut
performance made everybody proud. Welcome to The Horde!!

The boys will take a well deserved break from the chores of songwriting for the next studio
album, in order to play the Spanish Ginetarock Festival on May 30th. 2009.
The show will mark the band's debut on Spanish soil.

Day 6

The Rock Temple, Kerkrade (NL)

On the drive to Kerkrade we checked out some of the DVDs we got in Belgium yesterday, and especially the Thor Anthology ("Anger Is My Middle Name") presented us with with some unforgettable and hilarious moments in the "Highway Tiger". The newly opened club "The Rock Temple", proved to be a very cool venue and was located in the borderland triangle of Holland, Belgium and Germany. We all had a very hard time believing that this would already be the last Stormwarrior gig on this tour, so everybody spent the afternoon catching up on smalltalk with members of the other bands and people from the crew. As always, since the 2nd. day of the tour, Stormwarrior refrained from doing a soundcheck, and went straight to the chinese restaurant around the corner to relax before the show. After an early curfew, it was time for a serious aftershow party. Stormwarrior brought out their bottles of whiskey and had a good time on the Firewind bus and on the street in front of The Rock Temple saying goodbye to the fans and everybody involved in the tour. We had to get up at 06:00 the morning after, so I am writing you this with pretty shaky hands. I hope that you've enjoyed reading this diary of Yours Truly. To me, it has been a very cool experience to be a part of this tour and I'm definitely heading for a major culture shock when I return to my day job tomorrow. Thank you all, and stay METAL

Day 5

Biebob, Vosselaar (BE)

Day 5 took us into new territory. Tonight's show at Biebob is in fact the first Stormwarrior gig on Belgian soil. Some of the truest warriors come from this region, and have travelled great distances to catch most of the Stormwarrior shows this year (hey Davy!), so it was about time that the band finally made it here. Our Belgian friends were already waiting for us when we arrived, so we had a good time over a few beers, before we visited the Metalzone, reputedly the largest metal record shop in Europe, which gave us the chance to find some cool DVDs to watch on the road. Back at the club, the catering menu consisted of freshly slaughtered and very tasty animals from the chicken farm belonging to the owner of Biebob, so strengthened and in high spirits Stormwarrior took the stage in the crowded club. After a great show and more Belgian beer it was time to find the hotel and get some shuteye.

Musikzentrum, Hannover (DE)

We all had a hard time finding sleep last night, the easy-going street in the daytime, turned out to be Techno Heaven at night. After a quick breakfast, we backtracked our route through heavy Friday traffic on the highways before ending up in Hannover, where a local lumber magnate had his stock of wood right outside the venue, which almost gave us the feeling of playing out in the woods somewhere in Scandinavia. 
Today the new bass cabinets finally arrived, so obviously a new problem had to arise. Two of Mark Cross’ toms went missing, and were later found in the huge loading bay back in Tilburg. Mark played with rentals and did a great job as usual. Lars’ collection of medicaments and magic potions for the throat and vocal chords are growing at an impressive rate, but he seems to know what he’s doing ;-). The merchandise stand has slowly evolved to become the place where the bands hang out with the fans, which makes my job much more interesting. The guys played a killer show tonight, so we’re all in good shape before the drive into Belgium tomorrow.

013, Tilburg (NL)

The third day of the tour took us across the border to the Netherlands, to the sunny streets of Tilburg, where it took us a while to get used to looking out for the constant flow of bicycles and surprisingly fast electric wheelchairs in places you’d think would be walking streets. Today we didn’t plan on having a sound check, so some of us just went out enjoying the nice weather, Falko proudly returned to the hotel with human bones to decorate his drumkit with (in plastic, alas), and others relaxed a couple of hours in the hotel, before we all walked to the venue. The 013 is a modern and well organised complex, with live music going on in two halls simultaneously, so there was a lot of activity in the loading bay and large backstage area. We still have bass equipment problems. Just before stage time it was decided to rig up an extra stack with guitar speakers for the bass players, and that actually worked out fine, with no damage done to the speakers. After the very powerful show yesterday, Lars was really struggling with the condition of his voice today, and had to use a lot more energy getting through the set than usual. There was no difference to be heard of course, and the guys did a real cool show. It seems that they already found the best possible set list, so they played the same set as Yesterday.

Turock, Essen (DE)

After spending the night at home, we met early on the second day of the tour at the subway station „Berliner Tor“ in Hamburg. Most of the guys had been following the American Election Night on CNN until the wee hours, so strong coffee was the name of the game. On the drive to Essen the manager Kai Karczewski surprised us with some freshly edited material from the new Stormwarrior live dvd, the bonus section “Impressions Of The First 10 Years”. So we all had a very amusing trip watching some pretty entertaining scenes from the days of yore. About 370 km later we reached our destination in the centre of Essen, where the crew was still busy building up the stage. Mark Cross brought a new custom built drum rack, which had to be assembled for the first time, and that seemed to be a pretty challenging task. It seems the bass players on this tour have a curse hanging over their heads. Just yesterday, Yenz’ bass amp mysteriously blew it’s tubes at the soundcheck in Hamburg, today it was the bass speakers of Petros (Firewind) that short-circuited. Because of the technical problems there was no time for a Stormwarrior soundcheck, which doesn’t seem to disturb the guys at all. I guess they have been playing a lot of festivals this year, doing only quick line-checks. Tonight’s show was really excellent. Total aggression! That was also due to the great fans from Ruhr-Pott.  Shortly after the last tune from Firewind, we packed, loaded out and drove to the hotel, which was luckily only 6 km away from the venue.

Marx, Hamburg (DE)

The tour with Firewind and Kiuas had its starting point at the homely shores of the Elbe in Hamburg , so after loading the van at the Stormwarrior rehearsal space at the metal club “Ballroom”, we met at Markthalle in the late afternoon . With Firewind from Greece and Kiuas from Finland we are all in all a pretty motley crew. This being the first tour date for everybody, there was still quite a few details to be worked out, and the last missing screws and nuts to be collected from the local music stores. While the band made a quick soundcheck, our crew put up the merch stand. Firewind drummer Mark Cross has spent a number of years in Hamburg, so a lot of mutual good friends came around to check out the show, Markus Grosskopf of Helloween, Henjo Richter of Gammy Ray and some people from Stormwarrior’s record label, Dockyard 1, were among the people I met there. Stormwarrior went on stage after the Kiuas set and were cheered on by the home crowd. As an encore, Kai Hansen of Gamma Ray made a guest appearance with Stormwarrior, and they played a cool version of the Helloween classic “I Want Out”. After the gig we loaded our stuff into the van we are using for the leg of this tour, a vehicle which is actually called the “Highway Tiger”.  Firewind and Kiuas are sharing a nightliner, while Stormwarrior have decided to check into hotels every night instead. Therefore the “Highway Tiger” van will bring us to the next town the fastest possible way. It’s time now to get a little sleep at home in Hamburg.

Live DVD/CD package from W:O:A 2007 finally scheduled for release.

As STORMWARRIOR are getting ready to join FIREWIND and KIUAS on tour in Europe, kicking
off next week on Nov. 4th., further excellent news is that the long-awaited live DVD with
footage from the Wacken Open Air show last year is now scheduled for a very early 2009
release through Remedy Records.

The package will be titled "If It's Not In Your Bloode... You Will Never Understande!" and
will include the full show in both DVD and audio CD formats, plus an extensive bonus section:
"Impressions From The First 10 Years", as well as the official "Iron Prayers" and
"Heading Northe" promo clips.

HAMMER OF THE GODS festival cancelled.
STORMWARRIOR were announced to play the HAMMER OF THE GODS festival in Toledo (ES) on Saturday 26.07.2008 on a bill including Doro, Dream Evil and Raven. We’re sorry to hear that the festival has been cancelled. Ticket refunds are available at points of purchase starting Monday, July 21.

STORMWARRIOR are staying busy playing the European metal festivals this year. With UP THE HAMMERS (GR), ROCK HARD (DE), SWEDEN ROCK (SE), MAGIC CIRCLE (DE) and MASTERS OF ROCK (CZ) already behind them and with festivals like DOKK’EM OPEN AIR (NL), HEAVY METAL COLOGNE (DE), METAL MANIA (SI), DRAGONSLAYER (DE) and TRUE AS STEEL (CH) yet to come, the boys are guaranteed to put their brand of metal on the map for a whole lot of warriors all across Europe.

On this Friday 30.05.2008 Stormwarrior will be making a surprise appearance at the “Ross The Boss & Sinner Special Pre-Release Party” at the Ballroom in Hamburg.

For Stormwarrior this is the perfect warm-up show before the performance at Sweden Rock next week, and a great opportunity to have a party.

Thank YOU!!!

The release party last friday we had at the Ballroom Hamburg in support of our new album „Heading Northe“ was a total blast! A jam-packed house with lots of fans and supporters who came travelling long ways from all over Germany and abroad to see us was really flattering! Thank you for being the coolest fans ever! Also, we raise our drinking horns in order to salute our special guests Andre, Scott, Jussi and David for sharing the stage with us in the later part of the set. Bringing together (almost) all musicians who participated in Stormwarrior over the last years was an experience we will never forget, and it was pure joy performing songs with you guys and partying heavily afterwards! No matter where the time might take us all, we will always be one brotherhood of metal! Thank you so much!

NEWS

STORMWARRIOR has left Remedy Records and is now sign to Dockyard 1.
The band is currently recording its third studio album, "Heading Northe", at the group's own Thunderhall Studios and will mix the effort with Piet Sielck (SAVAGE CIRCUS, IRON SAVIOR) before mastering the CD at Tommy Hansen's (HELLOWEEN, HAMMERFALL, PRETTY MAIDS) Jailhouse Studios in Denmark. An early 2008 release is expected.

Hi Everyone!

After the successful gigs at the Magic Circle Festival and the Wacken Open Air we are proud to anounce that Yenz Leonhardt will be the new full member on the bass of Stormwarrior.

Good and Bad News for 2006

Hi Everyone!

First of all we have to inform you that David has left the band in order to focus on his studies and some private issues.
We are sad that we have to let him go, but it seems to be the best choice for him right now and we wish him all the best.

To get this straight: There are no hard feelings between him and the band, he is still our brother and we will drink together as we always did!

From now on Lars will be taking over guitar duties again (as well as continue singing of course!), so for the time being the band will perform as a four-piece.
The first show with the new line-up will be the Ultima Ratio Festival 2006 in Krefeld, Germany on May 6th.

Make sure you are there!

In other news, the mixing of the live album is almost done, so expect a release of that one soon!
